The mysterious hills cradle lochs that were formed 1000's of years ago by glaciers. The brown trout and salmon in the lochs and the abundant bird life in the hills seem to belie the peaceful silence in the glens.
The dramatic highland mountains played stage to the clan wars, where heroes and villains alike used the rough landscape as hideout and home. The colour and shape constantly changes and travelling through the Highlands provides constant visual stimulation.
The Highlands will no doubt inspire you to produce some form of art to preserve its complex beauty - even if it is only a photograph!
